Sallent Bridge

The bridge in the municipality of Sallent had undergone an expansion of the width of the deck at the end of the 19th century and required its replacement, since it was made using a metallic structure in very poor condition, in addition to settlements taking place in the areas more flexible of the bridge surface.

For this reason, the city council entrusted Landem with this project with the explicit order to affect the original structure of the bridge as little as possible, adding greater comfort and security to the inhabitants of the town.

The expansion of the deck of the bridge on both sides is carried out by placing a cantilever pre-slab fastened with transversal metal profiles that serves as formwork for the concreting of the new deck. The slab rests on a concrete surface that does not affect the stone structure, ensuring its integrity.
