The central ring of Plaça Joan Cornudella is currently a free space, unused, covered with willow and used mainly as a connection area for the various accesses. With the aim of improving the state of the square and giving it a better and greater use in the urban space, it was decided to carry out an executive redevelopment project. The District of Horta-Guinardó hires Landem to draft the project.
To start the work, we start from two premises: to improve the link between the different accesses and to generate uses that benefit neighbors and users. It is then proposed to pave part of the square, connecting the accesses in a safer and more comfortable way; build parterres that increase the green surface of the square and collaborate with drainage; design a completely sustainable drainage system; install a climbing wall area using the existing concrete wall; install equipment for sports practice; improve lighting and install new street furniture. Finally, a repair of the pathologies of the existing concrete walls is proposed, with the aim of improving their maintenance.
