RESTORATION OF THE MUGA RIVER NATURAL PATH

The Consortium of Greenways of Girona has entrusted Landem with the drafting of the executive project for the restoration and consolidation of the different elements of the Muga river nature trail, between Castelló d’Empúries and Empuriabrava, which is part of the Pirinexus, a cycling route circular cross-border tourist that unites the territories located on both sides of the Pyrenees at its eastern end, between the states of France and Spain.

This project includes, among others, the restoration of the different pavements, the management of spill water and the stabilization of the slopes present along the 4 km of the natural path.

The Landem team, familiar with the natural environment where the project is located, has opted for bioengineering solutions with low environmental impact, such as the use of biodegradable mesh to stabilize the slopes and hydroseeding, stone wall protections and roofed wooden fences from sustainable forest management.
