RENOVATION OF ROOMS AND RENOVATION OF FACILITIES
OF THE HOTEL PRINCESS OF KOS, GREECE

For the renovation of the new Princess of Kos hotel of the SMY Hotels chain on the island of Kos, Greece, SMY Hotels trusts the Landem team, which is not only responsible for drafting the hotel’s renovation project existing of 276 rooms, but the replacement of the facilities, the improvement of the existing buildings and the Project Management of all the works.

Landem’s proposal consists of a total renovation of the rooms, achieving a new hotel concept, more friendly and Mediterranean. In addition, the global action is used to improve the soundproofing between rooms.

With the action carried out, a 4-star hotel is achieved, where the customer can enjoy very worthy finishes at a controlled cost and new facilities that improve the comfort of the stay. Not only that, but the external aesthetics of the buildings change completely with minimal action on the facades, giving a pleasant and harmonious solution with the environment. This performance consists of a fiberglass mesh lining and a single-layer mortar layer. The facilities of all the room buildings are also completely renovated: firstly, they are air-conditioned with VRV systems; secondly, home automation systems are installed to improve consumption that optimize energy consumption; and, finally, with regard to domestic hot water, solar panels are installed on the roof of the various buildings, with accumulators and air heaters to dissipate the excess heat.

Among the renovated facilities, an improvement is included that both the user and the hotel manager appreciate substantially: the fiber optic installation that allows to improve both the hotel’s wireless network and monitor the operation of the routers from an internet portal and broadcast from a conventional TV system or IPTV system.
