Sallent Bridge

Sallent’s bridge width of the board had been extended at the end of century XIX and needed a substitution, since this one was realized by means of a metallic structure in very bad state, besides to take place settlements in the more flexible zones of the bridge’s surface.

For this reason, the city council entrusted Landem with this project with the explicit request to affect as little as possible the original structure of the bridge, adding greater comfort and safety to the inhabitants of the town.

The extension of the bridge deck on both sides is done by placing a cantilever slab attached with transverse metal profiles that serves as formwork for the concreting of the new board. The slab rests on a concrete surface that does not affect the stone structure, ensuring the integrity of it.
